To see and hear all the rhetoric from much of the media in America these days, the majority of
non-Black Americans have little to do with their lives except to oppress and murder the African Americans in this country.
In truth, nothing could be farther from the truth. Most non-Black Americans want the same for Blacks as for themselves –
the opportunity to lead a peaceful good life. But what about all the reports of Blacks being killed in America’s crime-ridden
cities? What about the reports of the racist White police harassing and murdering unarmed Blacks? What about the reports of
rampant racism in this country?
The facts are: Most of these reports are fabrications or misrepresentations to the American public
by liberals and bleeding-heart do-gooders who beat their breasts shouting “Mea Culpa!” These fake humanitarians ignore today’s
realities and they concoct their own versions of the realities in everyday American life.
Despite the existence of anti-Semites and the growing anti-Semitism in America in 2022, American
Jews are among the luckiest Jews in Jewish history. Even with the re-establishment of a Jewish state in the Land of Israel,
many more Israeli Jews have moved to America than American Jews have moved to Israel. This is not a reflection on Israel,
which is a country with a high quality of life that is an unparalleled blessing in Jewish life; rather, it is a reflection
on America and how good it is for Jews.
Likewise, despite the existence of racists and racism in America, Black Americans are among the
luckiest Blacks in the world. A distinguished Black journalist, Keith Richburg of the Washington Post, fully acknowledged
the horror and cruelties of slavery. Nevertheless, he thanked God his ancestors made it possible for him to be born and live
in America, not Africa.
After covering Africa for the Washington Post, Richburg put it this way in his newspaper: “Let me
put it as simply as I can: There but for the grace of God go I.”
Somewhere, sometime, maybe 400 years ago, an ancestor of mine whose name I’ll never know was
shackled in leg irons, kept in a dark pit . . . and then put with thousands of other Africans into the crowded, filthy
cargo hold of a ship for the long and treacherous journey across the Atlantic. Many of them died along the way, of disease,
of hunger. But my ancestor survived . . . He was ripped away from his country and his family, forced into slavery somewhere
in the Caribbean. Then one of his descendants somehow made it up to South Carolina, and one of those descendants, my father,
made it to Detroit during the Second World War, and there I was born, 36 years ago.
I empathize with Africa’s pain. I recoil in horror at the mindless waste of human life, and human
potential. I salute the gallantry and dignity and sheer perseverance of the Africans. But most of all, I feel secretly glad
that my ancestor made it out.
That is why millions of Africans prefer to live in America than anywhere else. That is why more
than 2 million Africans immigrated to the United States in the recent past (compared with the 388,000 who came as slaves).
Unlike the many Americans - Black and White - who believe the leftist libel about America oppressing Blacks and all other
nonwhites, the millions of Africans who want to come to America know how lucky they would be to be a Black in America, as do
the millions who already live here. They know they are, or would be, among the luckiest Blacks in the world.
Unfortunately, there are many white Americans - people born and raised in America, many of whose
ancestors also fled war, poverty and oppression in Europe - who not only deny how lucky they are to live here in America but
also vilify those founders of America who made their blessed life possible. Their attitude transcends mere lying; it enters
the realm of pathology.[1]
Anyone who continues to say that racism is the greatest problem facing Blacks in America in 2022 is
woefully ignorant of the facts or purposefully wants to spread racial division. If Blacks buy into this falsehood, then there
is little hope for Black America in this generation. It means that the left has successfully indoctrinated young Americans, -
White and Black - into believing that a truly decent country like America is so indecent that it hates its Black
population.
As just about everyone knows, but too few talk about publicly, in many U.S. cities,
violent Black on Black crime is rampant. A Department of Justice study from 1980-2008 revealed that
blacks accounted for almost half of the nation’s homicide victims (47%) and more than half of the offenders (52%),
all while only being 13% of America’s population.
The culpability for this disproportionate amount of mayhem actually lies with a menacing 2-3%
minority within the Black populace. I call them urban terrorists. This 2-3% Black minority is literally spawned from the Black
community that protects them.
The disintegration of the nuclear family has led to an astronomical increase of single-mother
households. According to the Moynihan Report, in 1965, nearly 25% percent of Black children were born to unwed
mothers. The report’s author, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, said this was a disaster in the making. He was, of course, vilified by
so-called Black leaders and their progressive allies. But he was right. By 2019, the out of wedlock Black birth rate
had risen to nearly 75%.
There will be no solution to the problems afflicting Black America until more Blacks
acknowledge that the issues plaguing their community are ultimately self-inflicted.
There is a Liberal agenda at work and the Liberals’ goal is to tell Black people that they are
victims, and that racism remains a major problem in America when, in fact, it isn’t. These Liberals want Black people to vote
for the Democratic Party.
The Democratic Party regularly gets 95% of the Black vote, and the reason they get it is because
Blacks are convinced that the major issue facing the country is social justice, racist white cops, discrimination, systemic
racism, micro-aggression – whatever new word the American Liberals come up with.
But the number one problem domestically facing this country is the breakdown of the family.
A kid raised without a dad is 5 times more likely to be poor and commit crimes; 9 times more likely to drop out of
school; and 20 times more likely to end up in jail.
So, a Black child without a dad at home is far more likely to end up in jail than he/she is because
of a white racist cop.
In Chicago, which is a third Back, a third white, a third Hispanic, 70% of the homicides are
Black-on-Black. The idea that a racist white cop shooting unarmed black people is a peril to black people is
BS. In 2019, there were 14,000 homicides. Half of them were Black and 96% of those were Black-on-Black.
Where was Black Lives Matter on that?
If the condition of Blacks in America is to improve, it won’t be by misdirecting attention to the
false and irrelevant charge of racism in America. It should be apparent to any open-minded person that a large segment of the
Black community in the United States is mired in poverty, crime, and drug dependence. The inconvenient truth is that much of
this failure is self-inflicted. Further, the attempts by American society to help, in general, have been misguided and are
proving to be nothing but abject failures. Let’s ignore the rhetoric and lies being thrown about. Let’s face reality.
To aid the Black community, American Liberals have employed the usual socialist solution, that of
pouring money on the problem. But, heaping governmental financial aid on the unwed, the fatherless, the untrained,
and the unemployed has the unintended consequence of encouraging illegitimacy, family abandonment, school dropout, and the
absence of a motivation to work.
So, do you buy into the all-too-often spouted canard that racism is the biggest problem facing Black
Americans? In reality, it is quite apparent to anyone with an open mind that racism is definitely not the biggest problem
facing Black Americans today. In spite of what Black Lives Matter has shouted, White police shooting unarmed Blacks
is definitely not a major problem. Discrimination in schools and colleges no longer poses a major obstacle to Blacks. Job
discrimination is no longer the rampant scourge it once was for Blacks. Lack of opportunity no longer keeps Blacks repressed –
President Barack Obama, along with former Secretaries of State Collin Powell and Condoleezza Rice - even though they are Black
Americans - were able to rise and to achieve greatness!
What truly is Black America’s biggest problem is the propaganda, lies and falsehoods handed
them by America’s liberals and so-called progressives, who shout out that rampant racism on the part of bigoted White America
is their biggest problem. The facts simply belie this! A corollary to the fiction that racism is the biggest
problem facing Black Americans is the fact that too many Blacks – and too many unthinking White liberals – unquestionably
accept this statement as a God-given truth. Sometimes, wallowing in victimhood takes less courage and effort than facing
reality and working to eliminate the real problem.[2]
The Liberal obsession with centering everything on race and sex has reached a new and despicable low
with an upcoming movie called “The Woman King.” This “historical epic film” centers around the real African kingdom of
Dahomey, which existed during the Scramble for Africa in the age of empires, around 1800 to 1904.
In the film, General Nanisca, the leader of an all-female band of warriors - known as the Dahomey
Amazons - struggles against European attempts to conquer the kingdom. For the Liberals and the bleeding hearts, it’s got
everything - strong, Black women and evil, White Europeans. It’s a leftist dream! Unfortunately, these left-leaning do-gooders
ignore the horrific reality of how the kingdom of Dahomey treated its neighbors on the African continent. The kingdom built
its legacy by waging endless wars against its Black neighbors and by enslaving the neighboring Blacks that it
captured.
This Black African kingdom built its economy on slavery. Yes, contrary to what the radical left tries
to ignore, Black Africans were just as willing to participate in the slave trade as white Europeans were. Prior to Europe’s
banning the slave trade, Dahomey routinely would trade men, women, and children from neighboring tribes to Whites in exchange
for money and other goods. Worse still, the slaves who remained in Dahomey faced horrific conditions and often were sacrificed
to the kingdom’s gods.
Dahomey and slavery were so intertwined, it was Europeans who had to force the kingdom to stop.
Leftist rags already have primed the moviegoing masses to view this film as a great triumph for
identity politics. There’s a tendency from those on the radical left to lionize people simply for their immutable
characteristics. Blacks, trans people, and women receive accolades simply for existing, and the left heaps favor on the
holy identity trifecta: the black trans woman. That the film features Black women is apparently worth glorifying Black slave
owners. Movie-goers who watch this movie will be subjected to two hours of pithy Black Lives Matter race essentialism. In
today’s America, shaped and molded by the left, women and Blacks often are all-to-often depicted as blameless innocents only
to be oppressed by evil White men.
The truth remains: There were White men who enslaved Blacks and there were (and are) White men who
fought to break their chains. So too are there Black men who fought to abolish the hated institution of slavery while other
Black men were happy to sell their Black neighbors.
The Woman King, set for release in 2022, looks to be more of the same racist
garbage that we’ve seen from the left before. Movie audiences deserve better.[3]
For the past two decades, this country has been talking about phantom police racism in order to
avoid talking about a more uncomfortable truth: Black crime. But in the era of data-driven law enforcement, policing is
simply a function of crime. The best way to lower adverse police-Black contacts in inner-city neighborhoods would be for
children to be raised by their mother and their father in order to radically lower the crime rate
there.[4]
