When I went to public schools during the 1940’s and 1950’s here in
Massachusetts, there were many times when I stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, when I sang
the Star Spangled Banner with my hand over my heart, when I sang “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”
or “America the Beautiful.” I was proud to be an American and happy that all my grandparents
and my father had escaped from Eastern European anti-Semitism and had made such a good life
for my sister and myself here in the “land of the free and the home of the brave”.
One grandfather was a carpenter and the other what was called a peddler. My father served
in the Navy in World War I and worked as a grocery store manager after that. My family was
far from rich, but we lived the American dream – and we appreciated it.
I look at what’s happening in America and feel sad and angry.
Monuments being torn down, names are being changed, educators, writers, and newspaper people
are being “outed” for writing things that are deemed “offensive” or “insensitive” or not
“politically correct”. And what is perhaps the most troubling of all, I don’t see anyone
standing up for our American traditions, for all those things that have made America the
envy of the world. All I see and hear are calls to “tear down”, “remove”, “erase”, “change’,
“forget” and “destroy”. I see and hear those who urge us to destroy all that has been shown
to be good and beneficial to the millions of people who have come before, to those living in
America today, and to our descendants who will follow after us. We and our predecessors have
enjoyed the benefits of American democracy, freedom, and wealth. And yet today, we stand
idly by or we march in lock step with those that are telling us to tear down everything which
has proven to be the best and most successful in the history of mankind.
America was founded upon the Judeo-Christian principle that the most
important battle that we, as individuals, need to wage in life is with our own nature. “The left,
which proudly rejects Judeo-Christian values, has adopted the opposite of the Judeo-Christian
view regarding pain in life. Leftists (as opposed to liberals) hold outside forces responsible
for their pain. That is the reason for the litany of left-wing enemies: capitalism, patriarchy,
misogyny, systemic racism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, sexism, xenophobia.
“So, then, if you are an unhappy American woman, you can work on
yourself and your nature, or you can blame sexism and patriarchy, i.e., men, for your pained
state.
“If you are an unhappy gay American, you can work on yourself, or you
can blame society's homophobia for your unhappiness.
“And, most significantly, if you are an unhappy black American,
you can work on yourself and your life, or you can blame systemic racism and whites for your
anger and unfulfilled life. [Emphasis mine]
“All this explains why the left encourages every group except for white,
Christian, heterosexual males to regard themselves as oppressed. The more oppressed women, gays,
blacks, etc. see themselves, the more they are alienated from America and its values, and the
more they gravitate left. . .

“America has been a great country because it was built on the belief
that we must all fight against our natures (and fight for our country). It is difficult to
overstate the damage the left is doing to this country by abandoning the fundamental
Judeo-Christian teaching that we must fight our natures in order to lead a more decent and
happy life and replacing it with the belief that we must battle America instead. This
replacement inevitably leads to a population of unhappy, ungrateful and mean-spirited human
beings - precisely the type of individuals you see rioting and looting, the type of elected
officials who do nothing to stop rioters and looters, the columnists and academics who devote
their lives to spewing hate-filled lies about America, and the Twitter mobs who comprise the
toxic cancel culture.
“It will lead to what the left acknowledges it seeks: the end
of America as we have known it.” [Emphasis mine] (Ref. 1)
Today, we are told that what America has represented for almost
250 years has been wrong; and those telling us this are the loudest voices we hear today. These
are the voices of the Fascists, the Anarchists and the Marxists – the FAM’s – who masquerade
under the banner of Black Lives Matter (BLM) as defenders of America’s “downtrodden” Blacks
against the evil oppressor - Racist America.
More than 150 years ago, America fought a bloody Civil War, that,
in 1865, ended slavery in America and brought to an end the short-lived southern Confederacy.
Why then are we today listening to those who would have us renew and relive the Civil War?
Instead, let’s hear the voices of American patriots loudly proclaiming what was achieved
in 1865: an end to slavery and the promise of equality to those emancipated as proclaimed in
our Declaration of Independence – “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men
are created equal.” The strident voices being raised in America today are not for
equality – they are calling for the destruction of the nation that has proven to be the
freest and most equal in the history of the world.
Today, we are told to erase, destroy, denigrate and forget all that
the great men of America achieved in more than 250 years of America’s existence and even more
dating all the way back to 1492. We are told to take note only of their defects and to detest
them for not being faultless saints. We must not let this happen!
“I believe America needed a Christopher Columbus, a Theodore Roosevelt,
and even a Woodrow Wilson, warts and all. America became great because of them, and others like
them, but it will not remain great when the monuments to them and others are ignominiously
removed from America’s streets, parks, and academic buildings.
“A battle for America has begun. If America still means
something to us {we must} ‘. . . do the opposite’ of those trying to tear down America . . .
{We} must take a part in that battle and oppose them. [Emphasis mine]
“{As the Jewish Ethics of the Fathers instructs all of us,}
‘It is not your responsibility to finish the work [of perfecting the world], but you are not
free to desist from it either.’ ” (Ref. 2)
“This land is my land; this land is your land. This land is not Commie
land.
“But you wouldn't know it if you looked at {America this past May,
June and July}. It sure looks like we've been kneeling to mobs, kneeling to communist demands,
glorifying looters and felons and their audacious claims of entitlement. We have allowed a
leftist political movement to change history and force-feed the lie of ‘racist policing.’
Canceling police and investing in lawlessness is all the rage these days.
“Yet, as flames of hate for America engulf our cities, Americans
appear to have hit their own mute buttons. . .
“Why so quiet?
“Americans {have been} silent because they are afraid. Afraid of social
and employment repercussions for having a divergent opinion from the mob. Some who disagree with
the mob even end up joining the mob because they are afraid to lose their place in society. . .
“ ‘I'm afraid to say anything,’ one American said . . . ‘I don't want
to lose my job,’ said another. ‘I have some different opinions than the narrative being forced
on society right now. If spoken, I will instantly be called [racist],’ said a third. ‘It's designed
to shut down the conversation and intimidate. And it is working,’ this man concluded. And so on
and so forth, these Americans are keeping their opinions to themselves, terrified of social justice
warriors looting their lives if they dare dissent. . .
“These publicly-silent American men and women are all employed and afraid.
And they're not wrong to fear repercussion for thought disparity. Many people have already lost
their jobs when there was even a hint of disagreement with the Black victimization social narrative.
The social stigma applies to dissenters of all creeds and colors. More than anyone, conservative
Black friends fear the wrath of their communities when they disagree with any part of the protests
or narrative. Discussions in U.S. society have come to a tragic halt because of the cancel culture
that swallowed us whole: Americans have stopped speaking and started kneeling.

“{In June]: A basketball broadcaster was fired for tweeting ‘ALL LIVES
MATTER.’ A soccer player issued an apology on behalf of his wife and vowed to silence her dissenting
opinions moving forward. A football player was bullied into issuing a boiler-plate apology for
defending the American flag that represents the freedoms the American people fought to protect.
For reference, he beautifully said, "I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of
the United States of America," and described thinking about all that has been sacrificed to make
this country what it is today. These were just the newsworthy silences. How many Americans were
left unemployed that you will never read about?
“Silence became a sign of complacency with ‘white supremacy.’ Companies
started feeling pressure to support BLM. It became a ‘you're with us or against us’ scenario. Even
Nickelodeon decided to tell kids that they need to fight for BLM. Yet none of them . . . called
out the looting that {was} taking place in their businesses . . . But while larger companies
{could} bear the losses, smaller mom and pop shops {couldn’t}. It appears not many are standing
up on their behalf, in fear of being labeled a ‘white supremacist’ or ‘racist’ by the BLM
movement and society that has accepted them unquestioningly.

“Central BLM politics are socialist in nature, which brings us to
Antifa.
“Let's be clear: Antifa is an organized and funded group of
anti-American [Emphasis mine] socialist radicals. Don't buy into the anti-Fascist
marketing ploy . . . Fascists were socialists. Nazis were socialists. (Everyone your grandparents
fought - were socialists.) It is because the BLM movement is organized and driven by socialists
that the {joining} of the two groups was so smooth. . .
“BLM support . . . has become a social requirement, just as The 1619
Project became an educational requirement. Why? Because Americans are cowering, not questioning.
When the slightest hint of opposition yields a loss of income and social stature, why speak up?
“The result has been police officers apologizing on their knees for things
they did not do, soldiers kneeling for mobs, and Americans from all sides mourning the death of a
convicted felon who served time for robbing a woman in her home at gunpoint. Multiple police
officers have been killed, injured, and threatened. Meanwhile, thin blue line stickers are
disappearing from cars, leftist politicians are calling to ‘defund the police,’ and BLM is
threatening an armed ‘war on police.’
“Americans, listen up: It's okay to dislike both Floyd and the arresting
officers. It's okay to be open to the possibility that the officers might be absolved of criminal
wrongdoing. It's okay to question BLM's narratives. It's okay to disagree with socialism. It's
okay to like police officers. It's okay not to kneel.
“Americans! You're giving in to political peer pressure! Stop!
[Emphasis mine]
“Look in the mirror. You're an American. A free man, a free woman.
You are living in a country that was built on ideas of freedom of speech and freedom from
oppression. Stop letting political movements impose oppression and speech restrictions on you.
Get up and speak up! Stand up for yourself and for your country. Stop feeling displaced guilt.
Stop acting pusillanimously. Stop letting your cities burn.
“You live in a country that is the least racist country in the world
(just travel and you'll agree). If you want to make it better, do that, but do it right.
“If you continue to cower, you will lose your country. Remember
those socialists, Antifa? Their goal is to overtake our government and replace it. . .
“You are not as alone as you think. 71% of Americans agree with
using the National Guard to assist police in managing these ‘protests.’ Do you think these
Americans feel the need for National Guard because they believe the protests are peaceful,
or because the converse is true? 58% even support using the U.S. Military to supplement local
police. It is clear that in reality, these ‘protests’ do not have unyielding support, and many
are seeing them as excuses for violent attacks and a new form of race riots. Indeed, Americans
are standing up for themselves, just less vociferously than the leftists screaming at them.
“So get off your knees. You didn't do anything. You're not a ‘white
upremacist’ just because you are an American. You are not a ‘white supremacist’ just because
you are a police officer (especially when you're a Black police officer). These are all scare
tactics used to control good people. You can speak your mind and ask questions, and not only
is it okay to do so but it's your American entitlement to do so.
“Don't kneel. Stand proud. You're an American.”
(Ref. 3) Show that American patriotism still exists. Show that that there are
still American patriots in the twenty first century.
There is a mad and totally irrational rush to remove any name,
nickname, hint of a name , reference to …, or anything else that even remotely refers to some
selected group from the names of sports teams and all else. To wit, “Winchester’s
Sachem school nickname is the latest Native American mascot in Massachusetts to be removed,
while the state Senate approved a bill to explore replacing the ‘racist’ state seal.
“The Winchester School Committee on Tuesday voted unanimously to
eliminate the Sachem mascot and logo. . .

“Another bill on Beacon Hill would replace the state seal, which includes
a Native American figure . . .” (Ref. 4)
What next? Will the name change zealots require the New England Patriots
to change the name of their team? Doesn’t the name patriots on a football jersey besmirch the
memory of the America’s patriots of 1776? Next, we will have to change the names of the Seattle
Mariners, the New York Yankees, the Boston Celtics and the New York Knickerbockers. After all,
I’m sure we can find at least one idiot who can say that they are offended by any such name used
by a sports team.
Where are those thinking people - the ones that have at least a
smattering of intelligence and good old common sense – who should be standing up and shouting.
“ENOUGH!"? Stop the stupidity. Having a sports team with the well-meaning name
or nickname of some group should not be interpreted as being offensive, racist or demeaning.
It should simply be what it is – a name. Let’s all get back to working on the real problems
that we face these days and stop wasting time, money and energy on all this foolishness.
Where are today’s real American patriots who should be standing up and telling us to get on with
our lives?
Real American patriots, ask yourself the following question:, “Do
we wish to advance Western civilization by recognizing that while America's history may not have
been perfect (who and what has ever been?), we have proven to be the greatest civilization of all
mankind, and we deserve to continue to perfect ourselves while retaining our freedoms and the
Constitution that got us to this point in history? ” (Ref. 5)
We are faced with an emerging crisis in which “our country might collapse
by the weight of the Black Lives Matter movement that has elevated hoodlums, criminals, and anarchists
to high stature . . .
“When we have corporate America pumping billions of dollars into an
anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-white organization simply because of peer pressure and fear
of a loss of income, we have a problem. When we have every major institution of higher learning
sending out statements about how much more money and resources they will pump into diversity and
training programs (i.e., brainwashing initiatives) because of ‘systemic racism’ that anyone with
a brain understands no longer exists, we have a major problem, given the numbers of young minds
that are being destroyed year after year. When we see the NFL replace the National Anthem with
something known as the ‘black national anthem’ while a man who refuses to stand for the National
Anthem (while wearing socks depicting police officers as pigs) is elevated to heroic stature by
that League, Nike, and all of the other ‘woke’ virtue-signalers who couldn't care less about
loving their country or respecting its history and those who have given life and limb so that
they can proceed unabated to destroy it, we have to wonder how we survive this?
“Our country was founded by brilliant heroes who named us the United
States of America. The Preamble to the Constitution reads:
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union,
establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general
Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish
this Constitution for the United States.
“They did not call our country perfect, but they sought to form a united
nation for the benefit of all of its citizens — not a select few at any given time. Our National
Anthem is the anthem of every American and when we attend a sporting event, college graduation,
or any other time that warrants standing for the flag, patriotic Americans remove their hats,
put their hands over their hearts, and sing with pride. Those who seek power on the basis
of identity politics and whose hearts do not fill upon hearing the music and words of songs written
centuries ago by men proud of the Stars and Stripes, now seek to lead us into decline and if we let
them, we do so knowingly. ” [Emphasis mine] (Ref. 5)
At the start of the 2020 NFL football season, some fans in attendance
at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium booed prior to the game.
Players on the Houston Texans elected to remain in the locker room during
the performance of the national anthem, while players on the Kansas City Chiefs elected to
remain on the field. A Chiefs linebacker took a knee during the national anthem, the lone Kansas
City player to do so.[6])
Here, at the start of 3rd decade of the 21st century, so many Americans
“are so polarized, angry, and anxious now that we are at each other's throats - literally and
figuratively. Many millions of young people are so down on America and so contemptuous of our
past role in the world, which has been so obviously and overwhelmingly positive, that even the
core idea of American exceptionalism is rejected. We are the one nation in the world
that seems to highlight our flaws and not our abundant goodness. [Emphasis mine]

“We can and should come together in a patriotic celebration of our past
and our combined goodness and our compassion. Millions of people can make positive change - not
by tearing down but by building up and by contributing to positive outcomes. Not by burning down
in the fits of rage we all feel from time to time these days but by lighting candles and lending
a helping hand.” (Ref. 7)
American patriots, now is the time to stand up and to be counted. Now is
the time to oppose and denounce the folks who are just fine tearing down statues of our founders,
of Francis Scott Key, and of presidents who have advanced the freedoms for all of us as a united
country. Now is the time to stop the folks who support mob rule rather than law and order,
erasing history rather than teaching it in order to learn and continue to perfect ourselves and
our nation, and destroying our country in the name of Black Lives Matter rather than recognizing
that all of our lives matter.
American patriots, now is the time to support those who proudly love
this country, serve in the military so that we can be free to voice – peaceably - our opinions,
protect our streets, businesses, schools, towns and cities and who stand to sing The
Star-Spangled Banner, wave the American flag, and fight for a land of the free and home of the
brave.[5] Now is the time for the real American patriots
to stand up and be counted!
The time has come to remember the worlds of the song by Lee Greenwood:
“I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free and I won’t forget the men who
died and gave their life for me, and I’ll gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today,
cause there ain’t no doubt, I love this land, God bless the USA.” (Greenwood, Lee, God Bless
the USA, 1984) The time has come for America’s modern patriots to take action and remain silent
no more. Now is the time for patriots to rise up and oppose all those whose message is that of
tearing down what millions of true patriots have built up with their blood. The time is here and
now for the ‘silent majority’ be silent no more – for all true patriots to join together, to once
more create a powerful voice of unity across our land.
Here we have athletes making millions of dollars and living the
American Dream who show nothing but disrespect and distain for the nation that has given them
and the rest of America so much. Such behavior is despicable! In earlier times these miscreants
would have justifiably been severely reprimanded and likely fired. Their behavior was reprehensible.
So was that of the Houston Texans football team and the National Football League for allowing the
demeaning of this country, its flag, and our national anthem to go unpunished and without even a
word of admonition. It is a slap in the face to all those patriots who fought for, bled for and
have died for this nation and all that it stands for.
For shame, all of you who have participated in such wretched
behavior. For shame, all of you who have witnessed this abominable episode and have not raised
your voices in fury and anger. Is patriotism in America dead? Is "America the Beautiful"
no more "the land of the free and the home of brave" and instead a land with no love of country
and a land devoid of patriots?
