“According to the make-believe world of the left, we are experiencing a
great moment in American racial history. For the first time, the story goes, more whites than ever
are coming to realize how racist America is, how racist cops are, and how systemically racist
everything in America is.
“Only now do many Americans understand just how racist Uncle Ben,
Aunt Jemima, Ulysses Grant, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, ‘whitening’ agents, meritocracy,
Western culture, Christianity, jailing blacks, and the NFL are. The bestselling book in America is
about alleged ‘white fragility’ – the term for any rational response to the irrational charge that
all whites are racist.
“All this is supposed to be good for America’s blacks. But none
of it is. In fact, it is all destructive.
“Take the movement to defund police departments and the incessant charges
of ‘police brutality’ and ‘racist police.’ Only those who don’t care about blacks other than using
them to advance their power . . . argue this war against the police is good for blacks. Already the
increase in the number of blacks murdered, not to mention injured, is reaching levels unseen in
decades. And there is every reason to assume, as police pull back from high-crime areas, it will
get worse.
“Take the left-wing mantra that all whites are racist. If I wanted to
obstruct black progress, and especially damage black children, I couldn’t come up with a more
effective idea. To believe from early childhood that you walk through life held in contempt by
all of your fellow citizens who are white is to walk through life with much more than a chip on
your shoulder. It is more like a heavy boulder.
“It means that you will walk through life with two paralyzing burdens:
anger and victimhood. Either one is enough to ruin your life. Combined, they’re devastating. It
gives one an idea of how cynical the left is that it would want to cultivate both of these
life-ruining emotions in as many blacks as possible.
“Anger and victimhood not only ruin an individual’s life; they destroy
his relationships with others. Everyone who has an angry individual in their family knows not only
how unhappy that person is but also how much havoc they wreak on the rest of the family.
“The same holds true for the relative who sees him or herself as a
perpetual victim. Such people are both miserable and miserable to be around. And since victimhood
is a major cause of evil – people who see themselves as victims usually think they are not nearly
as bound by moral rules as others are – as they are more likely to hurt others.
“The ‘protesters’ who destroy and loot think their victim status allows
them to destroy and loot. The man identified as the president of the greater New York Black Lives
Matter . . . recently told Fox News: ‘If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will
burn down this system and replace it. All right? And I could be speaking … figuratively. I could
be speaking literally. It’s a matter of interpretation.’
“In a report yesterday on a police shooting of a robber who resisted arrest
and reached for an object in his waistband, the San Diego Union-Tribune quoted a protest organizer:
‘If this young man was robbing, that means his state and his government failed to provide him with
the resources he needs.’ When you feel you are a victim, you are allowed to rob.
“Take the constant, often absurd, charges of racism at the most benign
comments. If you say, for example, that you see nothing wrong with the picture of Uncle Ben on a
box of rice, you will be accused of racism. As a result, most whites understand they can
no longer speak truthfully or from the heart in the presence of a black American.
“It is hard to imagine a worse recipe for genuine relationships between
the races. . .
“Take the assault on merit-based advancement in the name of racial equality.
Will this help or hinder blacks? It will obviously help some blacks in the short run. But over the
long term, telling any group they needn’t meet a universal standard of excellence can only
harm that group – not to mention harm the way their success will be viewed by others. Moreover, it
is difficult to imagine a more condescending view of a group than to argue that standards must be
lowered for them to succeed.
“The damage the left is doing to America may be mortal. When it is widely
deemed okay to destroy statues of Abraham Lincoln, society is experiencing a moral earthquake which
may eventually destroy it. But the damage the left is doing to so many blacks – to their moral
compass, to their happiness, and to their relations with their white fellow citizens – is not in
the realm of ‘may do.’ It is done. “ (Ref. 1)
Yes, Black lives matter, but so do the lives all non-Blacks. And,
if Black lives matter, then it’s time to face up to the truth that most Blacks who are murdered are
murdered by other Blacks and not by white police intent on killing unarmed Blacks.
FACT: In 2016,
FBI data showed that 2,870 Blacks were murdered in America. Who murdered these 2,870 Blacks?
2,570 of the murderers were likely Black while only 243 of the murders were probably White.
[2] If Black lives matter, then it’s time to go after
the ones who are murdering Blacks – other Blacks - and it’s time to ferret out the root causes of
Blacks killing other Blacks and to eliminate these sources!
But, the blind followers of Black Lives Matter claim that hordes of
“racist white cops are killing innocent unarmed Blacks.” Such is a lie! The “police almost
never kill unarmed blacks, and on the rare occasions that they do (about 15 times a year), there
is almost always a valid reason . . . Furthermore, police kill more unarmed whites than blacks, and
the reason there are proportionately so many more blacks in prison than whites is because blacks
disproportionately commit violent crimes.” . . . “Even the charge of endemic racist police brutality
is a lie. There are undoubtedly racist police, but racism does not characterize police interactions
with blacks” (Ref. 3)
Following the 4th of July holiday in Boston, I woke up to the following:
“A horrific week of violence in Boston — seven slayings in less than a week . . . ”
(Ref. 4) These killings took place in the predominantly Black Boston
neighborhoods of Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan. As usual, the ethnicities of the victims and of
any suspects were not mentioned – God forbid that the race of the victims and perpetrators be
disclosed in the news media lest the media be accused of being white racists!
In Boston, a man was killed and three others were injured in a shooting
on Circuit Street in Roxbury on the night of June 30th. Police responded to a radio call around
7:30 p.m. for several people shot. On arrival, officers observed four adult male victims suffering
from gunshot wounds. One Victim, suffering life threatening injuries, was transported to an area
hospital where he later died. The other 3 victims were transported to local area hospitals with
non-life threatening injuries.[5]
The Roxbury district of Boston has historically been predominantly Black
and has, in recent years, been a frequent scene of violence, with numerous shootings being reported
there throughout the years.
Let’s look beyond Boston at some nation-wide numbers. The numbers shown
below are the number of murders per million members of the murderer’s race. These numbers are for
the year 2018 and come from: 2018 FBI Crime Report, Expanded Homicide Data Table 6 (ucr.fbi.gov)
and U.S. Census Bureau June 1, 2018 quickfacts (www.census.gov).
Number per million of Blacks murdered by Whites: 0.94
Number per million of Whites murdered by Whites: 10.72
Number per million of Whites murdered by Blacks: 11.75
Number per million of Blacks murdered by Blacks: 59.42
If Black lives matter, then it’s time to put an end to the
vicious lies being spread that hordes of racist white police are killing innocent Blacks by the
droves. Let’s admit that the vast majority of Blacks that are killed are killed by other Blacks
and let’s see some real effort to address and fix a real problem facing Blacks in America –
Blacks killing Blacks! Let’s stop focusing on the blatant lie that a major problem facing Blacks
in America is that of Racist White police killing unarmed Blacks.
If Black lives really matter, then it’s time to stop the
totally insane call to defund or eliminate the police – they are not the cause of Blacks being
murdered, they are a critical part of the solution to the problem of young Blacks being murdered.
Here is another news items from Massachusetts that came out in 2020 just
prior to the Fourth of July. The report concerns a shooting at a shopping mall in Braintree, a
Boston suburb.
In the mall shooting, it was first stated that two suspects were in
custody after a 15-year-old girl was shot at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree on July 3rd.
Responding very quickly, armed police searched for the suspects who had fled on foot, while warning
residents in neighborhoods near the mall to shelter in place.
Fortunately, the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and she was
transported to an area hospital by ambulance. According to police, the girl was an innocent bystander.
The shooting appeared to have started as a fight between two groups of young men. The 15-year-old
victim was not near the scene of the fight when she was hit.
The two male suspects were caught a “short distance away” from the mall
about two hours after the shooting. Police said that the two men arrested were 20 and 21 years
old.[6] Members of the regional metropolitan SWAT team rushed to
the scene to assist Braintree police in securing the mall and later in apprehending the two suspects.
One of the apprehended suspects was later released, while the second suspect remained in
custody.
In both of these reports, it was the police who immediately had to respond
to dangerous situations. In the second case, it was the police who caught the suspects. It wasn’t
social workers who were called to put their lives on the line. If Black lives really matter, then
it’s time to show some respect for the men and women who protect and serve at the risk of their lives
and go after those miscreants who have no compunction at putting all our lives – the lives of Blacks
and non-Blacks - at risk.
As a consequence of the unrest that erupted after the death of George Floyd,
violence rapidly increased across America – America’s Blacks being the leading victims.
“ ‘Over 1,500 people have been shot in Chicago, almost 900 in Philadelphia, and more than
500 in New York City so far in 2020 {as of early July 2020} — all up significantly from the same
time last year (1,018 in Chicago, 701 in Philadelphia and 355 in New York).’
"Just over the Fourth of July weekend, 30 people were shot in Philadelphia
which has seen homicides spike upwards of 30% compared to 2019.
“Similarly, Atlanta is also up in shootings by 20% compared to the same time
in 2019. . .
“Tragically, the year of Black Lives Matter, it is the Black
community being hit hardest by this spate of violent crime. . .
“Undoubtedly a factor . . . is the persecution of the police. In some cases,
police have been ordered to disengage from areas where criminality has occurred and it is fair
to conclude that many in law enforcement are reticent to put themselves in a position that could
leave themselves at the mercy of the 2020 cultural tribunal. [Emphasis mine]
“Many in the media, like those who laugh off the suggestion that their
cheerleading for lawlessness may have had dire consequences will try to continue to ignore the tragic
condition on the streets and instead celebrate the public demonstrations {that have, in part, led to
this increase in violence}”. (Ref. 7)
In 2020, America’s law enforcement personnel are being vilified as racists
and murderers of unarmed Blacks. Are such charges justified by the facts?
Going back in time to September of 2017, the FBI released its official crime
tally for 2016 and the data flies in the face of the rhetoric that racist white police are murdering
Black Americans in a significant number of cases.
According to the FBI report in 2016, the number of black homicide
victims totaled 7,881. “Those 7,881 ‘black bodies’ . . . are 1,405 more than the number of white
victims (which in this case includes most Hispanics) for the same period, though blacks are only 13
percent of the nation’s population.
- - -
“Who is killing these black victims? Not whites, and not the police,
but other blacks.
“In 2016, the police fatally shot 233 blacks, the vast majority armed
and dangerous, according to the Washington Post. The paper categorized only 16 black male victims of
police shootings as ‘unarmed.’ That classification masks assaults against officers and violent
resistance to arrest.
“Contrary to the Black Lives Matter narrative, the police have much more to
fear from black males than black males have to fear from the police. In 2015, a police officer
was 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male was to be killed by
a police officer.
“Black males have made up 42 percent of all cop-killers over the last
decade . . . That 18.5 ratio undoubtedly worsened {recently}, in light of the 53 percent increase in
gun murders of officers — committed vastly and disproportionately by black males.
“Among all homicide suspects whose race was known, white killers of blacks
numbered only 243.
- - -
“Four studies came out in 2016 alone rebutting the charge that police
shootings are racially biased. If there is a bias in police shootings, it works in favor of
blacks and against whites. That truth has not stopped the ongoing demonization of the police . . .”
(Ref. 8)
Following the death of George Floyd in May of 2020, America was informed
that: “The death toll from the current riots is now {8 June 2020} higher than the number of
unarmed African-Americans killed throughout the entirety of 2019.
“Of the 1004 people killed by American police in 2019, 371 were white, and
236 were black.
“That’s noteworthy in itself since blacks are far likelier to become involved
in violent confrontations with police than whites.
“Of those people killed, 20 whites were unarmed and 10 blacks were
unarmed.
“There have now been a total of at least 17 deaths as a result of the recent
riots. Of those 17 deaths, just three were killed by police.
“. . . one of those killed was retired police captain David Dorn, who was
shot in the head by looters as he tried to protect his community.” (Ref. 9)
In order to retain perspective, consider that: In 2016, the police
fatally shot 233 blacks, the vast majority armed and dangerous. Only 16 black male victims of police
shootings were identified as ‘unarmed.’ The FBI report for 2016 that listed 2,870 Black homicide
victims, identified 2,570 of the perpetrators as Black, i.e. nearly 90% of Black homicides were
committed by Blacks.[10]
A more recent and more complete report on the number of Black homicides
shows that there were 7,407 Black homicide victims in the United States in 2018.
[11] Assuming the same statistics as in the FBI report for 2016, then
90% of these black homicides, or more than 6,600 of them, were committed by other Blacks -
and not by whites nor by the police.
We are talking about thousands of Blacks being killed. Compare the number of
Blacks reported killed in 2018 - 7,407 – with the total number of Blacks reported as
killed by police in 2019 – 236 – of which some 10 were unarmed. Also
note that the vast majority of Blacks killed by police were undoubtedly justified. The killings
of a Black by a white police officer may make the headlines while nearly all Black on Black killings
are so common as to rate journalistic oblivion. Again, we emphasize that some 90% of the
thousands of Black homicides were committed by Blacks – not by white policemen.
FBI statistics reveal that in 2018: “A total of 106
police officers lost their lives on duty. 55 officers were feloniously killed while 51 died
accidentally.
When it comes to the circumstances behind non-accidental deaths, 23 officers were killed in the course of investigative or enforcement activities. Another 11 lost their lives in ambushes while six died in pursuits. 55 of the officers who died in 2018 were killed with firearms. [12]
“According to statistics reported to the FBI, 89 law enforcement officers were killed in line-of-duty incidents in 2019. Of these, 48 officers died as a result of felonious acts, and 41 officers died in accidents.” (Ref. 13) Of the 48 police that died, 40 were white and 7 were black/African American.
In the first five months of 2020, It was reported that just under 40 police officers were killed.[14] Extrapolating to a full twelve months, the numbers indicate that 90 police officers or more will be killed in 2020 in the line of duty.
Remember that in 2016, it was reported that 16 unarmed Blacks were killed by police. It was also reported that, in 2015, a police officer was 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male was to be killed by a police officer.
So here, in the second half of 2020, ask yourself the question:
Does a police officer have more to fear from being killed by a Black Male than an unarmed Black
male of being killed by a police officer? Does what Black Lives Matter says and does make any
sense? Is America racist? Do white police murder unarmed Blacks on a significant scale? Yes, I know,
even one innocent life lost is significant, but what about those almost 6,600 Black lives lost in
2018 at the hands of other Blacks? Isn’t that an enormously more significant tragedy and one that
Blacks Lives Matter should be focusing on instead of stirring up racial animosities in the streets
of America?
Black Lives Matter supporters claim America is racist. They are wrong!
“America is, in fact, the least racist, multi-racial, multi-ethnic country in world
history. ” (Ref. 1)
Let’s once-and-for-all end the idiotic call to defund or eliminate
the police and let’s admit that the police are the first line of defense in protecting us
all. The call to defund or eliminate police is an unconscionable effort to reduce the
enforcement of law and order and would only encourage more violence against Blacks, not less.
African-Americans, indeed all Americans, need to reassess the impact of the Black Lives Matter
movement. Is it helping or is it creating a major obstacle to the advancement of Blacks in America?
Will America survive the “American Libel” now being falsely spread across America? Maybe.
The Jews survived the Blood Libel. But America may not survive
the American Libel. While the first Libel led to the deaths of many Jews, the present Libel may
lead to the death of a civilization - indeed, the least repressive civilization ever created.
