Navy SEALs to be Put on Trial for Punching Terrorist
"Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged
mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of
the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.
"The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial
punishment — called a captain's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.
"Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he
was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.
"Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the
SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.
(Ref. 1)
An attorney for one of the SEALs "told Fox News the SEALs are being charged for allegedly
giving the detainee a 'punch in the gut.'
“I don’t know how they’re going to bring this detainee to the United States and give us
our constitutional right to confrontation in the courtroom,” the lawyer said. “But again, we have terrorists
getting their constitutional rights in New York City, but I suspect that they’re going to deny these SEALs their
right to confrontation in a military courtroom in Virginia.”
(Ref. 1.)
". . . a legal source told FoxNews.com that the detainee was turned over to Iraqi
authorities, to whom he made the abuse complaints. He was then returned to American custody. The SEAL leader
reported the charge up the chain of command, and an investigation ensued."
(Ref. 1.)
"The Fallujah atrocity came to symbolize the brutality of the enemy in Iraq and the
degree to which a homegrown insurgency was extending its grip over Iraq.
"The four Blackwater agents were transporting supplies for a catering company when they
were ambushed and killed by gunfire and grenades. Insurgents burned the bodies and dragged them through the city.
They hanged two of the bodies on a bridge over the Euphrates River for the world press to photograph.
"Intelligence sources identified Abed as the ringleader, but he had evaded capture until
September. (Ref. 1.)
What is this country coming to? Are we really so out of touch with reality as to put
three of our military personnel on trial for giving a fat lip to a murdering terrorist? These men put their lives
on the line for all of us to capture this animal. Does this Administration have any semblance of common sense? The
average soldier now has more to fear from President Obama and our bleeding heart eggheads then from terrorists.
This is a total absurdity. It's hard to believe that even the Obama administration would be this stupid. These men
should be given medals, not trials. Shame on Obama and his Administration.
Are these service men just the first of many of our heroes who will be humiliated while
the murdering Muslim terrorists are allowed to play victim? The entire world must be laughing non-stop at
America. These SEALS did their job, the job that we pay them and trained them to do. If I were in the shoes of our
military in Iraq or Afghanistan, the next time a similar situation arose I'd consider shooting the SOB's. Then
there would be no problem with the Politically Correct crowd here in the States. THESE MEN WERE DOING THEIR VERY
DANGEROUS JOB and this is what they get??
If I were the judge I might find them guilty of being too nice and order that they be
given medals for not giving this creature more than a fat lip. They captured the leader of some savage Islamic
terrorists who committed the brutal, barbaric set of murders and desecration in Fallujah Iraq in 2004. But they
gave the guy a fat lip. And, in the Obama Islamo-pandering worldview, a swollen lip far exceeds murdering four
Americans, burning their bodies to a crisp, dragging them through the streets and then hanging them on display
off a bridge for Western media to photograph. The trial of Navy Seals responsible for bringing to justice the
criminal responsible for the murder of 4 contractors is a shameful debacle - a new low for the Obama
administration.
Terrorist Trial in New York
The five terrorists charged with being part of the 9/11 attacks that will be tried in New
York City have already announced that they are guilty and will use the trial as a propaganda platform and will use
the venue to justify their actions, promote radical Islamic terrorism and recruit more terrorists for their Jihad
against the civilized world. By what justification has the Obama Administration decided to allow these animals
access to the American legal system and the right to spread their message of hate, terror and murder? These are
not U.S. citizens. They have no right to be protected by the American judicial system which should be reserved
for American citizens. At best, they are prisoners of war and should be interred in a POW camp, i.e., Guantanamo
Bay, until the end of the war, which will likely take place well after they would die of natural causes. Hopefully,
they would not be allowed to die of natural causes but, rather, would be tried under international law for
committing crimes against humanity and executed forthwith. BUT, the bleeding heart Politically Correct liberals in
our midst think otherwise. There must be 3,000 murdered Americans turning over in their graves at this point in
time.
"The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can
air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.
". . . the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali said the men would not deny
their role in the 2001 attacks but 'would explain what happened and why they did it.' . . . they will explain their
assessment of American foreign policy." (Ref. 2.)
What will be the impact on the Middle East of putting September 11 plotters on trial in
New York?
"In the trial, the terrorists will almost certainly base their defense on the concept of
"defensive Jihad." They will argue that the Islamic world was acting in self-defense in retaliating. They will give
a long list of real or alleged American misdeeds, long lists of civilians killed (in Afghanistan alone they could
come up with thousands), alleged sufferings during the embargo on Iraq when Saddam Hussein was rejecting his
commitments after the Kuwait war.
"This defense will inflame large numbers of Muslims. It will provide a great platform for
the defensive Jihad theory which, most recently, persuaded Major Khalid Hasan to kill 13 American soldiers. There
will be specific terrorist attacks inspired by the speeches made in New York. People will join Islamist and
terrorist groups, not necessarily al-Qaida, as a result of this inspiration. You can bet on it.
"In addition, the high-profile of the trials could well inspire terrorists to seize
Americans as hostages to exchange for the imprisoned Jihadists. The terrorists don't have to expect the United
States to make such a deal. They want the publicity and will be quite happy to kill the hostages and blame it on
the Americans' stubbornness.
"The Arab regimes won't like it because the defendants will spend a lot of time blasting
Egypt and Saudi Arabia as American puppets and urge their overthrow. Of course, the terrorists will bring in Israel,
too. It will be interesting to see how much time is devoted to each of the many topics they will use to attack
America.
"Naively, the Administration apparently believes that this show of American fair play,
equal justice for all, innocent until proven guilty, trial by a jury of their peers (if the entire jury isn't
Muslim, of course, most Middle East Muslims won't accept that notion), and the rules of evidence will impress
Muslims worldwide about how great a system the United States has and what great people Americans are.
"Yes, a few highly educated Arab liberals will write about such things but that will
appeal to less than five percent. By the time the trial is through the masses to a large extent will not conclude
that the defendents are dastardly people who murdered 3,000 innocent victims but that the prosecutors and the
government behind them are dastardly villains who have murdered millions."
(Ref. 3.)
"Atty. Gen. Eric Holder today defended the Obama administration's decision to try professed
terrorist mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in federal court and denied the move would give Mohammed a propaganda
forum." (Ref. 4.) On what world do Holder and the
Administration live? The terrorists have already announced that they will use the trial as a propaganda
platform.
"The decision to try some of the accused terrorists in civilian court rather than before
military tribunals has been criticized by Republicans who argue that it gives terrorists a worldwide stage for
their views. The argument is especially acute in the case of Mohammed, who has said he was the mastermind behind
the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington in which almost 3,000 Americans were killed."
(Ref. 4.)
The decision to try these terrorists in a civil court in New York is indefensible. Is this
being done in order for Obama to fulfill a pre-election promise to the far left of his party to close Guantanamo?
Putting these murderers on trial in a civilian court of law is a slap in the face of every American. If there was
any spark of humanity in these animals, they would be war criminals and not civilian criminals. They have no
humanity and are worse than war criminals. Give them a quick military trial in Guantanamo, lock them up (they
have already admitted their guilt), and execute them.
