“After Israel announced its decision on Thursday to bar two U.S.
Muslim pro-BDS congresswomen, Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), from entering the
Jewish State, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri approved the latter’s request to pay a visit on
humanitarian grounds to see her grandmother.
“Tlaib then decided not to go because it would ‘kill a piece of
me.’ ” (Ref. 1)
“Israel had announced originally that it was barring the visits
by the two freshmen Democratic representatives “over their support for boycotts of the
Jewish state.
“Tlaib and Omar are outspoken critics of Israel who have both faced
persistent accusations of anti-Semitism.” (Ref. 2)
“Under Israeli law, BDS supporters can be barred from entering the
country.” (Ref. 3)
“. . . {The} US ambassador to Israel, gave Mr. Netanyahu America's
full backing {in initially denying entry into Israel by the two BDS supporters}
" ‘In contrast to the nearly 70 freshmen members of Congress who
just recently completed, or who are currently pursuing, a balanced visit to Israel that
includes meetings with both Israeli and Palestinian leaders, the Tlaib/Omar Delegation has
limited its exposure to tours organized by the most strident of BDS activists,’ he said.
" ‘This trip, pure and simple, is nothing more than an effort to
fuel the BDS engine that Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar so vigorously support.’
“He said the BDS movement was ‘no less than economic warfare
designed to delegitimize and ultimately destroy the Jewish State.’
“He added: ‘Israel properly has enacted laws to bar entry of BDS
activists under the circumstances present here, and it has every right to protect its
borders against those activists in the same manner as it would bar entrants with more
conventional weapons.’ " (Ref. 3)
President Trump characterized Tlaib and Omar as “very anti-Jewish
and very anti-Israel.” (Ref. 2)
“Tlaib and Omar have been vocal critics of Israel and have
supported the boycott movement, formally known as the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions
(BDS) movement, voting against a House resolution condemning the movement, which received
broad bipartisan support.
“The boycott movement aims to end international support for Israel
because of its policies toward Palestinians, as well as its continued construction of West
Bank settlements, considered a violation of international law.” (Ref. 4)
“On Friday, Tlaib’s Twitter message said that ‘silencing me &
treating me like a criminal is not what she {Tlaib’s grandmother} wants for me. It would
kill a piece of me. I have decided that visiting my grandmother under these oppressive
conditions stands against everything I believe in . . . .’
“Israeli Interior Minister Aryeh Deri reacted by saying that
‘apparently her hate for Israel overcomes her love for her grandmother.’
“In explaining the decision to bar the pro-BDS congresswomen,
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged that their trip was aimed at promoting a boycott
of Israel and delegitimizing its existence.
“He added, however, that ‘if Congresswoman Tlaib submits a
humanitarian request to visit her relatives, the minister of interior has announced that
he will consider her request on the condition that she pledges not to act to promote
boycotts against Israel during her visit.’
“News then emerged that Tlaib had sent a letter to the Israeli
interior minister, dated Thursday, writing: ‘I would like to request admittance to Israel
in order to visit my relatives, and specifically my grandmother, who is in her 90s and
lives in Beit Ur al-Fouqa,’ a village located in the Ramallah area.
“She added that ‘this could be my last opportunity to see her’
and pledged to ‘respect any restrictions,’ saying that she ‘will not promote boycotts
against Israel during my visit.’
“In accepting the request, Deri voiced the hope that Tlaib would,
in fact, stand by her commitment and maintain the humanitarian character of her visit.”
(Ref. 1)
Not only is Tlaib an Arab in heart and mind, but she is also
an anti-Semite. “Freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib may take great pains to deny she is anti-Semitic,
but she’s just launched her congressional career by resorting to one of the oldest and most
blatantly anti-Jewish canards.
"At issue is a bill that aims to limit the anti-Israel Boycott,
Divestment and Sanctions campaign. Tlaib, the first Palestinian-American in Congress,
accused the measure’s supporters of dual loyalty.
“ ‘They forgot what country they represent,’ the Michigan Democrat
and unapologetic BDS supporter tweeted.
“In fact, the bill in question does several things: It would
also codify a memo of understanding with Israel, reimpose sanctions on entities funding
the Syrian government and strengthen the US-Jordan relationship. But the controversy
centers on the section that authorizes state and local government to combat BDS.
“Some oppose it on the belief that restricting BDS limits First
Amendment speech rights. But Tlaib just couldn’t stop there.
“American Jews have long been slandered with charges of dual
loyalty for their support of Israel. . . .
“Yet it’s particularly ironic for Tlaib to make the
charge, since she has vowed to ‘be a voice’ for her relatives in the West Bank and
declared that her ‘passion for justice is rooted in my beautiful Palestine.’”
[Emphasis mine] .” (Ref. 5)
Like many Arabs, including Palestinian-Arabs, Tlaib is willing to cut
off her nose to spite her face, and, as all-too-common in the Arab world, she wants to be
perceived as the eternal victim – just a lowly Arab girl who only wants to see her grandmother
one last time, but can’t because of those “monkey and ape Jews” in Israel. Tlaib wants to be
viewed as a martyr in the cause of Justice for the poor downtrodden Palestinian-Arabs who
only want to drive all Jews out of “their Palestine” which the Jews stole from them.
As was famously said of Yasar Arafat, “He never misses an opportunity
to miss an opportunity”, it can now be said that, Rashida Tlaib wouldn’t miss an opportunity
to bash Israel even if it meant missing the opportunity to see her aged grandmother. Another
relevant comment came from Golda Meir, who said, “Peace will only come when the Arabs love
their children more than they hate the Jews.” In Tlaib’s case, it can be said that she hates
Israel more than she loves her grandmother. Is there any doubt that Rashida Tlaib is a true
Arab? She may possess U.S. citizenship documentation, but, in her heart and in her mind,
she is still as Arab as Mahmoud Abbas. Her words and actions prove it. In Abbas’s case,
as with other Arabs and Palestinian-Arabs, when offered a Palestinian state and peace, he and
they turn down the offer. They want all of Palestine and they want it Juden-frei.
In Tlaib’s case, when offered a piece of pie – the opportunity to visit with her “beloved”
grandmother, she turns down the offer after asking for the visit. Tlaib now wants the
whole pie, not just a piece – How Arab of Tlaib! She just doesn’t want
to visit grandma, she also wants the publicity of verbally attacking Israel on its home soil
as well.
“ By refusing Israel’s offer, Rep. Rashida Tlaib acknowledged
that her goal was never simply to visit an aging family member, but rather to use that
visit as a platform to attack the Jewish state.” (Ref. 6)
While representative Rashida Tlaib’s hatred of Israel has been
shown to be greater than her love for her grandmother, let us fervently hope and pray
that her hatred of Israel does not supersede her love of America – certainly not as long
as she serves in America’s House of Representatives.
